Unikey and Elock Tech Corporation is a start-up company registered in the Philippine’s Securities and Exchange Commission by Michael Nolan B. Herradura with the goal of bringing to market his two inventions that has pending patents with the Philippine’s Intellectual Property Office. The company’s official –but temporary – address is at 26 Road 7 Pagasa Quezon City. It is currently doing research and development on a number of product prototypes. The developments of the prototypes are already in the final stages, with some of them ready for actual mass production.

The Unikey and ELock System:

Our first set of products, as outlined in our first patent application, follows two basic premises as originally conceived in 2004 – almost 10 years ago. First, the electronic key set (or the Unikey as it is called) has the ability to open an infinite number and types of electronic locks (or ELocks as it is called). With this idea, the owner of the key set will only own and use just one key - hopefully for the rest of his life – no matter how many additional door lock, padlock, drawer lock, shelf lock, vaults, or cars he accumulates while he lives. As protection against theft, each electronic key in the set (1 plus 2 duplicate keys per set) has an electronic keypad which basically requires a single 6-digit PIN before it can be used to open any of the electronic locks.

Our second basic premise states that the standard power source of all electronic locks comes from the electronic key itself. To open each electronic lock, the key has to be physically inserted into the electronic lock. The electronic lock then comes alive by drawing power from the battery that resides in the electronic key, and automatically unlocks (or locks) itself if the inserted electronic key matches the digital codes residing in the electronic lock’s memory banks. This second idea not only made the electronic locks smaller and easier to install, but also allowed the creation of the world’s first truly electronic padlock.

The Unikey and ELock system has many other great features added to it as a result of almost a decade of development. Included here is the addition of a keypad and standby power in the electronic door lock version for emergency opening via a 10-digit override code – a great feature to have when all of the keys are not in the immediate vicinity and the lock needs to be opened immediately.

The E-AIDE:

Requiring key owners to remember this additional 6-digit PIN for the key and 10-digit override PIN for ELocks on top of all PINs of ATM and Credit Cards, as well as the user Ids and passwords of emails, WIFI routers, desktop, and numerous other websites led to the second company invention.

We put the entire key owner’s hard to remember user Ids, passwords, and PINs into a small memory card, organize and encrypt them, and PIN protect it from illegal access. Put it into the Unikey itself, with the same regular 6-digit PIN as access code. Then for easier access and maintenance of the list of User Ids/PINs/Passwords, make it into a USB type gadget that can be inserted into any USB port of a computer or any electronic device.

Unikey and E-AIDE: A Great Combination

By having the Unikey on hand whether at home, the office or while travelling, the key owner will never again face access problem to any locks he owns; and combined with the E-AIDE, forgetting user Ids, passwords and PINs for access into electronic systems will never be a problem again either.
